CONTENT MANAGEMENT:

The Pasidium Content Management features offer all the power of a excellent document management system. The innovative HTML conversion engine allows documents of varying formats (eg: Word, Excel, PDF etc.) to be converted into a fully browsable and searchable HTML format in seconds. The main features in Content Management are as follows:

• Site Design

Simple wizards allow you create knowledge containers and project folders to organise your site into a hierarchy that can be easily navigated.

• Distributed Publishing

Documents can be published online using the content creation wizard. This guides the user through a simple process to gather required information for the submission. No technical knowledge is required and dependent on security privileges; everyone can participate in content creation.

• Document Conversion

Documents from the Microsoft Office family of products can be automatically converted to HTML during the publishing process. This has two major benefits; the first is that the user does not need the native office application to view the information in the document; the second is the speed with which the documents can be opened and the bandwidth they require.

• Web Links

Content published to Pasidium may be located in a remote web site. This is transparent to the users and Pasidium remains the single point of entry for corporate knowledge. The content on the remote site is indexed by Pasidium making it part of the searchable knowledge store.

• Document Links

Some documents may need to appear in your information hierarchy in multiple locations. This can be achieved by using document links. The physical document only exists once, but can be published to multiple folders.

• Bulk Upload

To help you get started faster, and for users wanting to add their existing document directories to Pasidium there is a bulk upload facility that can add hundreds of documents to Pasidium in just a few clicks.

• Audit Logs

User activity in the Pasidium 2000 application is audited. This includes access logs, publishing and updating logs and meta-data changes. The audit information is accessed through simple web pages

• Categorisation

Content can be categorised as it is published to Pasidium. Default content types are automatically set but can be overridden by the author. The Pasidium Search Engine allows you to locate information by category as well as content type.

• Profiling

All documents and information published to Pasidium have comprehensive profiles. This includes categorisation details, attachments, discussions, previous versions, security settings and more.

• Lock / Check-Out

When updates are required on documents in Pasidium the lock facility enables users to work on a document safe in the knowledge that other users will not be able to edit the same document. Details of locks and revisions are audited and can be viewed by other users with the required permissions.

• Version Control

Posting new versions in Pasidium is easy with the New Version wizard. This can release the lock a user may have on a document, convert the new version to HTML and keep a copy of the previous version of the document if requested. The Pasidium Notification & Subscription engine will alert all relevant users that a document has been changed.

• Attachments

Where additional information on a document is contained in separate files, the attachment facility allows this information to be placed on the document profile. This gives users a single point of entry to all relevant information on a document.

• Email Content

This facility allows users to extract documents or groups of documents from the system via email. This could be used in an instance where a user intends working on documents whilst disconnected from the system.

• On-Line Editing

Using the Web Folder functionality found with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, it is possible to edit documents directly on the Web Server. This reduces the complexity of editing information while still maintaining rigid control on security and auditing.
